Pots & Tiles - June 25, 2018
Ceramics in Mexico dated back thousands of years before the Pre-Columbian period, when ceramic arts and pottery crafts developed with the first advanced civilizations and cultures of Mesoamerica. With one exception, pre-Hispanic wares were not glazed, but rather burnished and painted with colored fine clay slips.
You will be provided with a terracotta tile & pot and painted examples to do drip and dot style paintings. The special paint will also be sprayed to protect your designs and become waterproof for outdoor use, if desired. All materials provided, two techniques demonstrated and one of each will be taken home to make your hacienda festive.
